Congratulations to Past President of the RCOK Robert MacMillan on his selection to receive the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander on Heroes Day, October 15, 2018.

In an interview with the Gleaner’s romario.scott@gleanerjm.com, Past President MacMillan said "I think we need to  be more compassionate and loving to the needy. We need some compassion in this country. How we treat each other could improve a whole lot. That we get that right would be a good thing for me,".

Mr. MacMillan has been a committed Rotarian for many decades and the Rotary organisation has provided one of the conduits through which he gave back to society’s less fortunate. He served as president of the Rotary Club of Kingston from 1980 to 1981 and is a Paul Harris Fellow.  He has also made significant contribution to the Salvation Army, including serving on The Salvation Army's advisory board for more than 30 years, before later becoming Chairman.

Mr. MacMillan spent many years at the helm of MacMillan Advertising Limited, a business founded by his late father in 1929, and one which continue to have significant impact on commerce in Jamaica. In total, he has been in that business for at least 50 years.

"I am deeply honoured, and I am deeply touched to have received such an award. It is much appreciated," Mr. MacMillan told the Gleaner.

Bringing it closer to home, members of the RCOK thank PP Robert MacMillan for his contribution to the Rotary Club of Kingston and wish him many more years of continued success in all his endeavours.
