President Effiom COMMENDS members of RCOK elected to the Lower House of Parliament
My Fellow Rotarians,
Please help me extend heartiest congratulations to our three members who have been re-elected and elected to the Lower House of Parliament after the ballots of the 16th General Election were counted last night:
Rtn. Gregory Mair St. Catherine North East
AG Andre Hylton St. Andrew Eastern
Rtn. Dr. Winston Green St. Mary South East
This is indeed a feat for any Rotary Club. We are hopeful that the zeal of our fellow members in living the Rotary Credo, "Service Above Self", will be applied in their parliamentary life and in Nation Building.
Not only is the Rotary Club of Kingston the first Rotary Club to be established in Jamaica, but until the evidence is brought forward, we are claiming to be the first club to have three members of the Lower House of Parliament and a RCOK sponsored a Rotary alumnus Damion Crawford who was a member of the GSE Team to Australia 2010 and is now the Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment.
YIR,
Rotary Club of Kingston
