Allison  Peart is the Country Manager for Ernst and Young, and the 54th and first female President of the Rotary Club of Kingston. She has embraced the  International Theme this Rotary year which is “Engage Rotary, Change Lives”.

The Major Project 2013/2014  is the Junior Achievement Biztown project which will bring an economic curriculum  “To Life”. This project will allow grade 5 students to combine in-class learning with a real life experience at a fully interactive simulated town facility where they will run businesses for the day.  The students will also be exposed to the community and its economy, financial literacy, work readiness as well as business management.  Rotary volunteers and Rotarians will be enlisted to assist with other Junior Achievement youth entrepreneurial projects since every Rotarian, regardless of classification, is a businessperson. As such President Allison plans to engage the Rotarians  and volunteers  to change the lives of youths in Jamaica.

The Major Project this year, with the leadership of President Allison also embodies the Rotary District theme,  “Building our Future with Vision”. This is clearly demonstrated as the Major Project 2013/2014  will be an investment in the youth of Jamaica.

In addition to this year’s Major Project, projects and initiatives that have become synonymous with our club including the annual Senior Citizens’ Christmas Treat, the Health Fairs, Roteract, Interact, Earlyact, Lunch with a Leader and the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (“RYLA”) will be continued.

Let us join in supporting President Allison and her initiatives.
